  • Following a family tradition of more than 160 years (Andreas König, 1850, Schönbach Cz), the atelier Robert König for violin making was opened in 2011. Since 2013 he shares the business with Michael Betcher.
  • 2006  Degree as musical instrument maker at the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau,course of music instrument making in Markneukirchen
  • 2006  Master Craftsman's Examination in the field of violin making
  • 2006–2011  Journeyman years with Heiko Seifert (Plauen, Germany), Christian Erichson (Hannover, Germany), Michael Stürzenhofecker (Cully, Switzerland)
  • 2009  Bronze medal for violoncello, together with Michael Stürzenhofecker, at the international violin making competition Triennale, Cremona (Italy)
  • 2012  German Award for Music Instrument Making, for violoncello
  • 2013  Professor for the course of music instrument making in Markneukirchen
